Zonal Advanced Space Technology Applications Laboratory Kano (ZASTAL Kano) is a laboratory originating from National Centre for Remote Sensing (NCRS) Jos.
It was established in March, 2012 with the sole aim of providing advanced space application technology to northwest region of Nigeria.

The office shall provide space science and satellite technology driven products as well as Geographic Information System(GIS) to facilitate space-based information dissemination, grassroots sensitization and stakeholders outreach. It is also to ensure that research finding from the products of earth and meteorogical observations as well as navigation (Global Positional System GPS) satellites and other benefits get to the targeted population in the north west geopolitical zone of the country.

With the launch of GRID 3 data hub in march, 2018 which aligns with the Nigeria's National Open Data policy, Remote Sensing and GIS applications have become practical, efficient and convenient. With our large number of experienced scientist from various background, applications such as cadestral mapping, terrain analysis, facility mapping, watershed analysis, crime hotspot mapping etc have become realistic and simplified . NASRDA has done a wonderful job in providing high resolution satellite data to facilitate Remote Sensing and GIS applications.
